About me

Hello I'm Karen, a passionate floral designer based in York. I work from my home studio, surrounded by my beautiful family and my ginger cat.  I have spent over fifteen years in the fashion industry as a womenswear print designer before discovering my love for floral design.  I like to think I'm a very creative soul always seeking new challenges and experiences. I'm a classic Sagittarius, free spirited, strong minded (stubborn) and hilarious! (well I think I am)   

 

My journey started at Covent Garden Flower Academy in 2016, where I studied wedding floristry. I've also done various wedding workshops with other top floral schools. From there I worked for various local florists whist still working as a freelance designer. I decided to take the plunge and study for my Level 2 certificate in Floristry Skills at a local college in York. From there I created Blossom & Wild Florals!  

 

I'm a lover of interior design programs, Thai food, wine in every colour and looking at the stars! I am fascinated by the endless possibilities that floral design offers me, and I pour my creativity into every design. I am passionate about working with seasonal flowers, I bring a garden style to all my arrangements, and I always try to use British flowers where possible. I strive to minimise my impact on the environment by being as sustainable as possible.​​​​​​​
